Food for Thought

Family Meal is a skater owned and operated headwear focused brand. It started with the idea of throwing our love of skateboarding and the aesthetic that comes along with it into a mixing bowl, and tossing in our experience of cooking in professional kitchens and passion for food.

A family meal in a professional kitchen is a meal provided by the restaurant for the entire staff, typically prior to the start of service. The meal is normally made by a member of the kitchen staff with products that may not make it on the restaurant's menu which helps utilize food, and prevent food waste.

WE ALL EAT TOGETHER.

Some of our hats have a tag with the number 86 on them. 86 is a common restaurant term referring to an item being sold out or no longer available. Our hats are very limited and the 86 tag on the back of our hats represent that. 86 can also mean that you or someone was kicked out of a bar or restaurant, but that's not what we are going for.
